The GNU has failed to work and we now want a democratic permanent solution in Zimbabwe which is based on free and fair elections as early as March 2010. Let's not wait for political leaders to make a difference in our lives because we just might wait in vain. So let us instigate the difference that we want in our lives by signing this petition.
The GNU has failed to work in Zimbabwe so we want free and fair elections in Zimbabwe as early as March 2010. If you agree with that statement sign by adding your name without fear on the petition on this blog which will be forwarded to SADC and AU.
Sorry those who don't understand Shona, but I have to write this in Shona for it to have the impact to fellow Zimbabweans that I want it to have.

You know what Eusebia this issue yokumusha is something that troubles so many Zimboz including most of the guys in the diaspora. The solution to our country needs no gnu. Even in the animal kingdom a gnu is an ugly creature. I tell you I know many Zimboz who are out of the country who would flood back home once everything is put in place starting with the demise of a gnu. For defined transitions (upto 2 year period a gnu may do) as we saw in Liberia.
I finally found your blog on "You can't silence me" and was filled with pride with how you speak with the pen. Was somewhat surprised to read that you call yourself quiet. Wish I would have been privileged to make you laugh a little more it's good. You've an executive outlook oozing with confidence. I must say I was left with a another perspective about you which I admire so much. I admire people who let their true colors show like you do. Excellent read for some of us vokumunda as one of your esteemed readers described me. Awesome stuff Eusebia.

This article and the one you said "You can't be silenced" have shown me another Eusebia who has quite a broad outlook to life. At first I thought you were only concentrating on romantic concerns. Pardon me to say but I must admit I have increased admiration for such broadness. On the issue most Zimboz I know at home and outside all agree that maybe the gnu was the best approach but only for a short period (18-24mths). Nowhere in the region have we ever gnus - its not a pretty animal the gnu (see it in any zoology text) and its even uglier as we see it in Zimbabwe today. If the region were to help and get us construct strong institutions that cannot be abused most of our folks in some other lands will flock and make Zimbabwe great.
My only surprise was that the Eusebia who is so "garulous" with the pen is in reality quiet! I hope my world shrinks one day and can get to chat to the quiet one in person at some point. Ndakambotukigwa zvokuinda off topic izvozvi so regai ndichiisiyira pano.

It seems most of your readers are not visiting this page. I get kubhowekana when I see only these comments I put in. Actually its one comment I put twice since it took time to upload so my mind had registered sendisina kuiisa. Come on you guys, let's gnaw the gnu!

Murimi WeZviyo you are very right that those in the Diaspora are not confident of this GNU and rightfully so because it is a mockery to democracy. True the gnu animal is an ugly creature and the GNU in Zim has proved to be just as ugly because it's not producing the desired results which is why I thought of coming up with this petition.
Pity that most Zimbabweans are afraid of signing the petition, they are so much afraid of Mugabe and his CIOs that they don't want to have anything to do with politics. All they do is complain while in the safe confines of their homes and do nothing about their complains. They call it self-preservation but I call it simply being cowardish. It is this cowardish attitude of Zimbabweans that has brought us this far in the mess that Zimbabwe is in. Vanhu vepi vanongokabira everything that is handed down to them whether they like it or not and they rarely speak out or act for their rights or what they believe in. Anyway, whether they sign the petition or not, the truth will still stand whether there is public support for it or not and the truth here is that the GNU has failed to work and the only solution is fresh, free and fair democratic elections as early as possible.
Murimi weZviyo so far 5 people have signed the petition but you are not one of them although you support the petition. That is the typical Zimbabwean attitude, "I support the cause but I will not be part of the action, will leave others to do it." Most Zimbabweans have that same attitude no wonder there is not much progress in the country.Change in Zimbabwe will only come about in Zimbabwe when Zimbabweans change their mindsets and learn to be proactive in all aspects of life.
Yes the farmer still has to sign it. The biggest issue is that most people are like me and don't know how to do it online. I tell you Eusebia people are so keen but are so computer illiterate. Most computers are being used for music, DVDs, and what have you and 90% of the gadget is left idle. Unfortunately I am in this group as well and we do need lotsa help.
I tell you I nearly gave up posting comments on this site till I eventually figured out how to do it. Nearly asked you to post a help line. So kana tichiona moto nezviri simple kudai kuzoti zvinongoti netsei mbhijana. No excuse though but huge handicap.

I agree with you Eusebia and Murimi weZviyo the GNU has failed to work and the only other option we have is free and fair unriggable elections that are heavily monitored by election monitors from the international community and not by election monitors from African countries most of which are afraid to rebuke Mugabe and would lie that elections are free and fair when they are not. Elections in Zimbabwe haven't been free and fair since 2000 and yet election monitors from African countries would announce that they were free and fair. We suspect that the election monitors would have been bought with the US dollars that were looted from RBZ by the powers that be.
Murimi weZviyo sure not being tech-savvy in this highly technological information age is a disadvantage. Anyway this is how you sign the petition. At the top right hand corner of the side bars of this blog is where the petition is located. To sign the petition you type your name where its written enter your name (or alternatively you opt to be anonymous) and when you have finished typing it you click on the button written, "Sign now." Doing so will take you to a form which you need to fill in and write whatever you think concerning the petition and then click the sign button and follow the instructions until you get thanked for signing the petition.
Thanks a million Eusebia. Spot on. I was busy mentoring a pal down South on how he could post onto your blog until I gave up. He sent me an email recently reminding me of a joke we used to share of a lazy and naive guy who could not find time to look for a mukadzi. When was finally found for he shot back: Ane mimba here? They gave up. Most of us have computers but we want some other people kudziitisa mimba. Too bad.
Ndapotsera my bit and will check how it comes up. Glad to see some more guys on the page. It keeps things on the roll.
Murimi WeZviyo
I think I saw why some guys give it up. One time it just clicks and sends but my last comment took three attempts. No sweat. I will remain anonymous for now - ndawandisa pa peji.
